FAMILIES

Families

Family Ministry is one vision and one ministry for every child of God from birth to 24 years old!

Our Family Ministry model creates a partnership between the church and parents in order to most effectively disciple and love your children. And because we have consistent vision, language, leaders, and heart for equipping parents from birth through college, your family can experience the hope of Jesus here together year after year as you grow together!

Whether you're about to have your first child, you've got a house full of teenagers, or you're somewhere in between, your family has a place to belong and grow here at Community Church of Greenwood!

Our commitment to families is that we will:

Cue the parents to actively participate in the spiritual formation of their own children.

Craft core Biblical truths into fun, engaging, relevant, safe and memorable experiences.

Connect every kid and student to a caring leader and consistent group of peers where they can connect relationally and grow spiritually.

Create consistent opportunities for child/students to experience personal ministry.

  • Your First Visit

    Family Entrance

You are welcome to use the Main Entrance, but we have a Family Entrance that leads right into our Kids Area. Look for the big sign on the building!

    Check-In

We use an electronic check-in system for every child to check in every time they come to church. On your first visit, come to the check-in desk in the middle of the Kids Area hallway and one of our volunteers will help you register and check in. After your first visit, you can utilize any of our check-in stations around the Kids Area to quickly and easily check in.

    Drop Off

Once you are checked in, you'll drop your kid off in their classroom. It's OK if there are some tears at drop-off! If you need to linger for a minute to help ease that transition or just drop and run, it works for us! We've seen it all and our classroom teachers can help every child get comfortable with their new classroom and new friends at their own pace and in their own way.

    Communication

When you check in we'll get your contact information from you so that if we would need to reach you during service we can text you directly.

    Pick Up

When service is over, come to the room where you dropped off your kid. Bring the check-in tag that you received when you first arrived. Our classroom volunteers will match up the code on your kid's name tag to the code on your tag before releasing them to you. Our policy is to only release a kid to an adult that has the correct tag, so make sure whoever comes to pick them up has the tag!

    Nursery (birth - toddlers)

Your child’s discipleship journey begins at birth. On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights we provide fun, safe, and nurturing environments where babies and toddlers can begin to build a trusting and loving relationship with God and His church. During this time our littlest friends are engaged in learning and growing through play and music with consistent, loving, trained adults.

    PreK/Kindergarten

At Community Church, we believe that fun builds trust and there’s no better place to have fun than at church! On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights we use play, music, art and engaging Bible lessons to help each child understand that God made them and God loves them.

    Elementary (1st - 4th grade)

At Community Church we believe that fun builds trust and there’s no better place to have fun than at church! On Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, your 1st through 4th graders will engage in worship, interactive Bible lessons and hands on learn activities that will help each child know who God is and how He changes our lives.
